Austin City Limits

So we just got done watching Austin City Limits on PBS. It was Coldplay and they were awesome. They did 'Till Kingdom Come which they said they wrote about Johnny Cash. Then they morphed into Ring Of Fire. Awesome. That wasn't the best thing though. Michael Stipe came out and sang an amazing song called In The Sun, by Joseph Arthur. Seriously, download the song. Stipe and Martin sounded amazing together.

Then as the credits were rolling they interviewed Chris Martin and their bass player.

Bass Player: When we are in the studio, we really want to go out on the road. We get tired of recording...
Bass Player: Then when we are on the road we get tired of that, you know, and we really want to get into the studio.
Chris Martin: yeah, I guess we are musically bisexual. We like both. (touring and recording that is).

um ok.

Weird, I thought that Til Kingdom Come was about Martin's relationship with Gwenyth P...shows what reading Blender will teach you.

i had this on in my "living room" while i was working in my "office" (they are really one room, but i like to think of them as two - it makes my space feel bigger), and heard Stipe's voice for a couple of songs. So i thought that the show had ended and moved on. Then when it switched back to Martin, i was really confused. Luckily Jed sent me a "you should download this song" email the next day - and all was clear again. Agreed, an excellent rendition of the song - although must echo Sean - the intro sounded almost identical to what i heard when we saw them here this summer (not necessarily a bad thing - i mean i don't think i could come up with something different each night about the same song). Glad to see you listen to things other than Wilco.
