Lock Your Doors

Ok, so Nicole and Suzanne's cars got broken into last night. The shoeprints are about Jr. High boys sized. The sad thing is the only thing worth taking was a $15 portable cd player and the burned, live, Wilco cd that happened to be in there. At least they might find some taste in music.

Is it possible to break into something that is unlocked?

My only hope at getting these guys for theft would be that ALL the windows were COMPLETELY rolled up and the doors were FULLY shut!

Then the costs of bringing such a case, $36 in Lansing. MIght not be worth the time.

I'll put you on the case. Your right, I guess they didn't "break" in. They opened and stole my stuff.
Fortunatly, I don't really care about the $15 cd player.

It's at least conversion and trespass, but ultimately not worth pursuing unless you're looking to teach some kid a lesson. I had that happen to me several years ago. While my CD player was also stolen, they thankfully left all of my crappy hairband 80's CDs. Whew.

When Wendy and I were visiting her brother in Asheville, NC last year, we (stupidly) went shopping and then left everything in our backseat, and then went to see a movie (Passion of the Christ, ironically). When we came out, someone had broken our window and stolen EVERYTHING, including our wedding photos that were in the trunk (the box they were in probably resembled an Xbox or something). But fortunately, a cop saw the guy breaking into our car, and caught him after a bit of a high speed chase, so we got everything back. Some people are really scummy. Kinda made me want to beat someone.

Incidentally, I'm sitting here at work, staring at a spreadsheet, whistling Wilco in my head. Thought you'd want to know that. :)
