Still Here

So my dad has cancer. I've been avoiding posting because it's just not an easy thing to write about. The waiting game has begun. We don't know too much about what's going on except that it's lymphoma and is in his kidneys. So there is nothing left to do right now, except of course pray. It's made me think a lot about life and my own mortality. I decided that I'm going to build a recording studio in my basement because I've been wanting to for a while. Eric Craft is going to help me and then we will probably start our own little company recording local bands. It's just one of those little dreams, you know? It's like, we just go on and on living life doing the same old things and never go for it. I don't want to live like that.

Dan, Just read this posting and our hearts ache for you and with you. I cannot find any words adequate to ease your pain. "No, no, no" is what is screaming from my head right now. Please know Dad and I are praying for you and for your family. We love you.

We will be praying for you. Though that sentence is a bit empty sounding in spite of what you guys are facing. Let us know if there is anything we can do from here. When Kris beat me to heaven a couple months ago, it made me think alot about my mortality and the issue of living life.
It seems so easy to get caught up in the abstrace or the idea of doing something, but it only seems important or makes a differnce when we do it. Got to love Kierkegaard when it comes to helping us see through this.
Tell your Dad that we and the rest of the staff of the school are praying for him.

Hey guy,
you posted on my xanga about a hybrid calvinism. I read some of the papers by your boy at Western and, well...not very convincing. I would love to continue the conversation via email if you would like, so we don't have to muddle up one another's blogs. my email is aboulet5@yahoo.com . if you'd like to dialogue, just shoot me a line. Hope all is well.

Hey bro, I really sorry. Like I'm sure a million people have already told you, if there's anything you need (someone to talk to/vent to/cathartically yell at), I'm here for ya. And Wendy and I will be praying for you.
