Quote of the day

"In my opinion, there are two essential problewms with believing God is somebody He isn't. The first problem is that it wrecks your life, and the second is that it makes God look like an idiot."
Donald Miller "Searching For God Knows What"

I really agree with that quote--and I have done that. I'm thankful for the young Christian men and women who are digging through the muck of all our traditions and ideas and trying to figure out who Jesus really is.

are you liking this 3rd of Don Miller's tomes? I started it, but am having trouble keeping fired up to continue reading. I love his style, so casual with a hint of resignation toward modernism, but sometimes his content just doesn't keep me pulled in. what say you, guru?

Dan, think that it was you that first steered me toward Miller. Thank you. His writings have been well guess I will say it a “blessing.” First time for that word in ten years or so to use that word. We have been emailing him about coming over here to talk. Maybe, the best thing about his writing is his honesty and the next is just that he speaks what we are thinking, or at lest what I am thinking. The last chapter of the book you take the quote from is very interesting in that I have never heard the idea about Romeo and Juliet being about the Church. Interesting. Have you heard that before? If so do you know any other books that back that up?
Andie says to tell you guys hello. We miss you.
